Le blog de la Bergerie

The weather was very good, which was such a blessing after this long serie of winter storms we had to suffer! There was quite a good turn out and the Walk started on time. There is something exhilirating to walk with a large group of people, which you don't know but with whom you share the same values: faith, prayers, the rosary, singing hymns and chants, the love of the Catholic Church and the love of the family. Being at that place at that particular time for a common goal renders the Walk quite a sweet moment. There were many children in strollers, many groups of youth walking together, for that matter many couples, old and young, and quite a large group of Dominicans in habit and Sisters and Priests! It was a great gathering walking down Market Street on a Saturday afternoon in late January. Have I mentioned the large police presence, greatly appreciated, and the large number of Walk volunteers?
I want to thanks the founders of this Event (Dolores, Eva and many more, including Bill May - may his soul rest in peace). I wish to thank the police force who provided a safe barrier when needed between our crowd of marchers and a small number of vehement protesters; I want to thank all the organizers behind the scene working hard to make sure everything goes smoothly. And I thank all the participants with all my heart from being there today.
